Changes to the Network Board!

Bowling social event 2017

In March 2018, Both Claire and Charlotte are stepping down as Co-chairs of the Network. Claire is nearing the completion of her training as a clinical scientist at Papworth in Respiratory & Sleep Science. Charlotte is nearing the completion of her training in Audiology at Addenbrooke's.

Although both co-chairs will be retiring, they will remain board members until the end of their training in September 2018. Both Claire and Charlotte have worked very hard to continue the work done by Rachel and Alex in improving the Network. Both Claire and Charlotte were involved in organisation of the elective and presentation event at Anglia Ruskin University and organising the OSFA workshop and Interdisciplinary cases workshop.

Very excitingly, the two new Co-Chairs of the Network are Jessica Matthews-Kelly and Kathryn Clarke! They took on their new responsibility in March 2018, to ease the transition between the old and new Co-Chairs.

Kathryn is training as a Haematology Clinical Scientist at Addenbrookes, Haematopathology and Oncology Diagnostic Service. Jess Matthew-Kelly is training as a Genomic Counsellor in East Anglian Medical Genetics Service at Addenbrooke's.

If you are interested in finding out more about other roles in the Network, please contact eoehcs@gmail.com for more info (with no commitment!), or check the Network Board page.

If you have found any of the Network events or information helpful - even if just for meeting other trainees - and would like it to continue, please consider taking on one of these roles, or any other described on the Network Board page. Some good reasons to volunteer are:

  • The more people involved, the easier the work is for everybody and the more the Network can accomplish. We found this to be very true when preparing the OSFA Workshop.

  • You gain useful management experience, which can be used as evidence for multiple competences, and may give you an advantage at a future job interview.

  • It's a really great chance to get to know other trainees and to form and deepen friendships. We thoroughly recommend the buzz you get after an efficient meeting or a successful event, knowing that you worked hard with a team and achieved something brilliant together.
